Pioneering innovation and sustainability in India’s transportation industry

In the first half of this year, we had the undoubted pleasure of working directly with our client and partner, Indian bus manufacturer Blackbuck EV. The visit of the Drabpol Research&Development engineering team was the culmination of a several-month project, entrusted to us for implementation. We are happy, because this is another strong proof that the motto “from experience sure” is not an empty slogan, convincing customers literally from all over the world to cooperate with us.

Remote project – distance is not an obstacle

We have the opportunity to work with companies of different sizes, at different stages of development. From this point of view, it is extremely important that we are perceived as a reliable and flexible team, able to adapt to the realities of the project. This “flexibility” caused the Blackbuck EV Board to look with great curiosity at the opportunity we presented to remotely implement an electric bus project, with many unique solutions. Something that seems difficult at first – distance, barriers, team development, are just challenges that, properly managed, can be overcome.

Not only is time money, there is also knowledge

The rather common “time is money” is one hundred percent true. The faster we are in the race for the market, the more commercially successful we will be. Therefore, by using the services of Drabpol R&D one buys time, de facto increasing the chances of winning the market. Almost as often it is said that information is currency and the derivative of information is knowledge. Cooperation with us means access to knowledge that translates into tangible benefits.

As head of R&D, he is responsible for the entire e-mobility area – integration of drive systems, PLC programming, embedded software, development of logic, service and diagnostic systems.

We leverage and transfer competence

We focus on partnership and the development of customer competence. Therefore, our mission is not only to implement projects per se, but to gain experience through the technical team of our partners. It was no different in this case. After the aforementioned several months of work, development of concepts, schematics, harnesses, complete software for the controllers used, our visit to India summed up the process and served as a joint check, acceptance and, above all, training.

One of our customers once said with appreciation that Drabpol R&D has a black belt in competence. In our Drabpol Dojo, we strive to train the competence of our partners in such a way that they also reach the master level over time. We don’t limit knowledge, we don’t tether the customer, we strive to make them choose to work with us as the best option on the table.

Challenges and support

The Blackbuck EV project presented a major engineering challenge. The eye of the company’s management was to create a bus that surpasses the solutions of the market competition. The focus was on travel and steering comfort, using two torsion axles or drive dispersion. The logical choice was to bet on Continental’s state-of-the-art solutions – KIBES 5 and the mFAP driver’s station with a liquid crystal display, for which, in addition to software, we also designed the complete design. During the project we also had the opportunity to support our client not only in the selection of components offered by Drabpol, but also to validate the quality, functionality and reliability of other sub-suppliers. These are the profits of experience, which cannot be bought but only gained.

The Blackbuck EV bus is a beautiful design with an interesting body line. Thanks to the quality of materials, components, it is sure to be a market success and customers, convinced of its quality, will place their trust in this product.
